“Life will show you a lot of things you don’t want to look at but stand, take heart, embrace the uncertainty. Believe that the One who controls your life is trustworthy.” -Coach JD
Welcome to a journey of transformation, grace, and relentless resilience. Jamila, born in the small town of Hammond, Louisiana, is the oldest of thirteen siblings. She was introduced to a world of untapped potential, southern hospitality, and deep-rooted tradition from a young age.
The early years of her life were marked by significant changes. Her parents separate when she was just four, leading to a move to Atlanta with her single mother and younger brother. This relocation, while initially disruptive, would later prove to be a pivotal decision that opened up a world of opportunity for her.
Growing up, she often felt like an outsider. With frequent moves disrupting her ability to form lasting friendships, she grappled with feelings of rejection, inadequacy, and abandonment. This led her down a challenging path. At 14, she was introduced to marijuana. By 16, she was a young teen mom, lost and broken. By 21, she was married and a mother for the third time.

Despite these challenges, she always exhibited a sense of independence and maturity. On the outside, she appeared to have everything under control. But beneath the surface, her life was filled with trials - infidelity in her marriage, financial stress, and her husband's imprisonment which left her a single parent to three boys.
During this tumultuous time, she turned to drugs and alcohol as a means to cope, thinking they were the "medication" she needed to get through each day. However, as she allowed God more into her heart, her perspective began to change. Her desires aligned with His, her prayer life developed, and her circle of influence shifted, marking the beginning of her transformation.
She has been many things - a hustler, a housewife, a side chick, a judgmental friend. She's made mistakes and missed grand opportunities, but through it all, she's learned, grown, and discovered her purpose. Encapsulated in her story are God's mercy and grace. She is a survivor, determined to create a legacy that encourages and influences others, proving that no matter the obstacles, transformation is possible.
Today, she uses her past experiences and lessons learned to guide her ministry and coaching practice. She understands the struggles you're facing because she's been there too. Her story is a testament to her strength and resilience, and she's here to assure you that you're not alone. She's here to help you navigate your journey and find the strength within you to overcome.
